On 19th June, members of Alzheimer Bulgaria Association had the pleasure to kindly welcome Dr. Liana Apostolova for an open discussion.

Dr. Liana Apostolova

Dr. Liana Apostolova is a Professor of Neurology, Radiology and Genetics at the Medical Faculty of the University of Indiana, Indianapolis with worldwide recognition. Her research is predominantly focused on patients with early-onset dementia.

The open discussion was attended by members of the association – non-professional caregivers, participants in the Alzheimer Bulgaria Association support group, volunteers in the project ‘Dementia Friends Bulgaria’ and other guests. They had the opportunity to ask different questions and learn more about the latest discoveries in the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Liana Apostolova talked about some of the earliest symptoms through which the disease manifests itself, and shared current news about advances in clinical trials on the topic, as well as insights about the steps that need to be taken to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
