2019

2019 – Upon launching ‘Dementia Friends Bulgaria’ towards the end of 2018, in 2019 we will continue with the information sessions to raise awareness about dementia among the general public. We will monitor the feedback from the dementia befrienders as well, in order to evaluate the success of their engagement with dementia patients in nursing homes and the extent to which it has benefited the patients.

In 2019, we are also taking part in two Erasmus+ projects:

  • The first one is called ‘Story2remember’ and is delivered in collaboration with the UK, Greece, Romania, and Ireland. The aim is to improve care and caregivers’ competences through an educational program using creative drama and storytelling.
  • The second one is a project called eLILY which is about eHealth literacy learning skills among dementia caregivers and carers of older people. It aims to train caregivers of people with dementia on the use of the Internet, providing skills and knowledge to help them search and understand medical information and online support skillfully and to their benefit. It is delivered in collaboration with organizations from Poland, Cyprus, Italy, and Greece.
