Training and coordination
Maya Marinova holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Humboldt University (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) in Berlin, Germany. She is currently completing a master's degree in clinical psychology at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski." Maya has been part of the association's team since November 2022 as a project coordinator. Her work also includes maintaining the organisation's website and social media accounts on Instagram and LinkedIn and participating in international conferences and other events as a representative of the association.
Kristia Ivanova has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". She has experience in the application of non-drug therapies to maintain the cognitive abilities of people with dementia as an intern in a project of the Alzheimer Bulgaria Association. She is leading a donation campaign to The Social Store and has contributed to the European Public Health Dialogue, representing the association at the Alzheimer's Pathway Revision Forum in the European Parliament in December 2024.

Lozana is a teacher with many years of experience working with children, including children with various educational and behavioural difficulties. She believes in the power of support, patience and human attitude. It is important for her to help people and be part of causes that bring meaning and care for others.

Dr. Simov graduated in medicine with specialisations in psychiatry and psychotherapy, with expertise in dialectical behavioral therapy, schema therapy and hypnotherapy. His many years of experience include academic work and medical practice in Bulgaria, Great Britain and France. Winner of two international awards for contributions to psychiatry. His dissertation was focused on the topic of bipolar disorder. His clinical interests are focused on gerontopsychiatry, bipolar and personality disorders, and psychopharmacology. He is the author of "Aging" (2024) – a guide to gerontopsychiatry and the monograph "Bipolar Affective Disorder" (2026).

Zornitsa Karagyozova
Zornitsa has a Master's degree in Law. She is a daughter of a person with dementia, participant in the "Alzheimer Caffe" initiative, member of Alzheimer Bulgaria Association and representative of Bulgaria in the newly created Group of non-professional caregivers of people with dementia at Alzheimer Europe.
