During the month of support for people with dementia and their relatives, Alzheimer Bulgaria took part in radio broadcasts to inform the public about the challenges faced by people affected by dementia and the need for active support from society and institutions.
Irina Ilieva, Executive Secretary of the Alzheimer Bulgaria Association, participated in a radio program on BNR. She spoke about the need to implement good European practices in Bulgaria to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia. Zornitsa Karagyozova, the representative of the Association in Alzheimer Europe’s group for people caring for their relatives with dementia, was also interviewed on one of the BNR programs. The topics were related to the symptoms of dementia, the steps in caring for a person with dementia, the difficulties faced by individuals with dementia and their families, and the gaps in the Bulgarian system regarding the care for people with dementia.
