Methodological Guide “Heritage with Care: Cultural Memory for People with Dementia

A GUIDE CONTAINING INFORMATION AND PRACTICAL ADVICE ON WORKING WITH PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA IN A MUSEUM SETTING
This publication covers a wide range of aspects relating to working with people with dementia, provides guidance on communication and adapting the museum environment, and highlights international best practices and the experience gained during the implementation of the project in Bulgaria. The guide is intended for museum specialists, museum educators, tour guides, communication experts, volunteers and all professionals who believe that cultural institutions should be accessible and inclusive for everyone. The publication was developed as part of the project ‘Heritage with Care – Cultural Memory for People with Dementia’, funded by The Headley Southeast Europe Cultural Heritage Fund and managed by the Balkan Museum Network.

A GUIDE WITH PRACTICAL ADVICE ON GROUP WORK

WITH PEOPLE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF DEMENTIA

The new handbook for group work with people with early-stage dementia, ‘Friends through Memory’, offers a comprehensive framework for professionals working with this vulnerable group. The publication brings together up-to-date knowledge on dementia, practical guidance and evidence-based approaches that help people in the early stages of the condition to remain active, independent and socially engaged. The guide was compiled as part of the ‘Friends through Memory’ project, funded under the ‘Social Innovation’ programme of Sofia Municipality.
